A Prayer for Mothers – Happy Mother’s Day

O Blessed Mother Mary, mother of the Church, we ask for your intercession on behalf of all mothers on this day.  We ask for the blessing of your Son Jesus to be upon all mothers of this world, living and deceased.  That they may feel the love and mercy of our Lord Jesus in their hearts.  That any distance between them and their children may be bridged by His Love.  May their fear be turned to hope and may their sorrow be displaced by joy.  May their burdens be made light by their children’s honor of them and most especially of you our Lord and Creator.

Father God, only you can know that which each mother truly needs.  Please be with them today and hear the petitions of your children as they seek to honor their mothers most especially on this day.  We pray that the example of their mother’s faith may lead them more closely to you.

We pray for these petitions and all things in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, Amen!
